Welcome to Stand. Stand is a platform that helps kids build real businesses with parent supervision. Through Stand, children can explore entrepreneurship, create a business identity, design products, build a storefront, learn business skills, and participate in selling activities approved and managed by a parent or legal guardian.
These Parent Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Stand and your child's participation in Stand. Stand is operated by Stand Kids, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Stand," "we," "us," "our"). The Service includes the website at standkids.com, the web application at app.standkids.com, and all related services, kits, and integrations.
By creating an account, purchasing a Stand membership, approving a child profile, approving a storefront, or allowing your child to use Stand, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and your child. If you do not agree, you may not use Stand or allow your child to use Stand.
Stand is designed for parents and legal guardians to create and manage accounts for children.
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Stand account, purchase a membership, approve a child profile, approve a storefront, receive payouts, or enter into these Terms.
Children may participate in Stand only with the permission, involvement, and supervision of their parent or legal guardian. Stand is designed primarily for children ages 8 to 16, although we may allow participation by children outside that range at our discretion and with parent approval.
The parent or legal guardian is the customer, account owner, legal contracting party, payer, approver, and payout recipient.
Your child may participate creatively and educationally in Stand, including brainstorming ideas, choosing a business category, creating a business name, designing branding, selecting products, learning business skills, and helping operate a parent-approved storefront. However, you remain responsible for your child's use of Stand and all activity that occurs through your account, including:
Stand is a subscription platform that helps kids build and run real businesses. The Service includes:
standkids.com/store/[slug] where the kid can publish products and accept real orders.Stand is an educational platform. We provide tools, content, and guidance — but Stand is not a school, bank, wallet, employer of children, financial advisor, tax advisor, legal advisor, or guarantee of business success, sales, income, or profit. Any business, sales, pricing, earning, or financial information shown in Stand is for educational and operational purposes only.
You agree that your child will participate in Stand only under your supervision. You are responsible for reviewing and approving your child's activity before anything becomes public or customer-facing.
Your child may not independently:
You agree to actively monitor your child's use of Stand and to help your child follow the Kid CEO Rules.
No child-created business, storefront, product listing, logo, slogan, image, product description, or other customer-facing content may be published without your approval.
Before approving any public-facing content, you agree to review it for accuracy, safety, appropriateness, and compliance with these Terms. Stand requires parent approval at multiple stages including child profile creation, storefront launch, product listing, pricing, publication of customer-facing content, customer communication, and payout setup.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current account information and to update it as needed.
You may not share your account credentials with anyone other than your child under your supervision. You must notify Stand if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
Stand offers founding-member pricing on two plans:
Pricing may change, but changes will not affect active subscriptions until renewal. The current price for any plan is shown at checkout. Founding-member pricing may be replaced by standard pricing for new signups at any time.
All payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. By purchasing, you authorize the charge to the payment method provided.
If your plan renews automatically, the renewal terms will be disclosed at checkout. You may cancel future renewals at any time by emailing hello@standkids.com. Cancellation stops future charges but does not automatically refund amounts already paid. After cancellation:
If you are not satisfied with Stand, you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase by emailing hello@standkids.com. After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion. Customized, personalized, made-to-order, printed, or fulfilled products may be non-refundable except where required by law or where the product is defective.
Stand may allow you and your child to create a parent-approved storefront at standkids.com/store/[slug]. Each storefront is connected to a parent or guardian account. Your child may help create and operate the business, but you are responsible for reviewing, approving, and managing the storefront.
You are responsible for:
Stand may reject, edit, remove, suspend, or disable any storefront, product, content, or account that Stand believes violates these Terms, creates risk, is inappropriate for children, infringes third-party rights, misleads customers, or otherwise harms Stand, users, families, vendors, customers, or the platform.
Stand offers access to curated products, supplies, print-on-demand products, starter kits, packaging, and other business-building materials. Some products are produced, supplied, printed, shipped, or fulfilled by third-party vendors. Today these include:
Product availability, pricing, production timelines, shipping timelines, and fulfillment methods may change. Customized products may vary slightly in color, size, placement, finish, or appearance. You are responsible for reviewing product mockups, descriptions, and details before approving them for use or sale.
Shipping timelines are estimates and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to vendors, carriers, inventory issues, holidays, weather, or other circumstances outside Stand's control.
Stand allows parent-approved storefronts to generate sales or earnings.
All payments, earnings, payouts, refunds, chargebacks, and tax-related activity are handled through the parent or guardian account, generally via Stripe Connect. Stand does not pay children directly. Stand does not provide children with bank accounts, stored-value accounts, wallets, prepaid cards, or financial accounts.
Any earnings balance shown in Stand is for tracking, educational, and operational purposes unless and until amounts are paid to the parent through an approved payout method. Stand may set payout thresholds, payout schedules, processing timelines, documentation requirements, and account verification requirements (including Stripe identity verification).
Stand may deduct or offset refunds, chargebacks, taxes, shipping costs, product costs, vendor costs, platform fees, payment-processing fees, or other amounts from current or future payouts.
You are responsible for any tax obligations arising from sales, payouts, or business activity connected to your Stand account. Stand may request tax information and issue tax forms where required by law.
Children may not communicate directly with customers without parent involvement and approval. Stand may restrict, monitor, route, or disable customer communication features to protect children and families.
Customers may not request personal information from children, contact children outside approved Stand channels, or engage in inappropriate communication. You agree to notify Stand if you become aware of unsafe, inappropriate, or suspicious customer behavior.
If you opt in to text messages at signup or elsewhere on the Service, you agree to the following:
Stand uses artificial intelligence (including Anthropic's Claude for text, Recraft and Google Gemini for images, and ElevenLabs for voice) to generate business content for your child. AI outputs are suggestions only — they may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, repetitive, or similar to existing third-party content.
You and your child may not use Stand to create, promote, sell, distribute, upload, or display anything involving:
You also agree not to use Stand for any unlawful purpose, attempt to access other users' data or accounts, interfere with the Service, use automated tools to scrape data, or misrepresent your identity or your child's age. Stand determines, in its sole discretion, whether content, products, businesses, or activity violate this Section.
The Stand platform — including the website, application, design, code, illustrations, and written content — is owned by Stand. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the platform without our permission.
As between you and Stand, you (and your child as your dependent) own the original content created on Stand, subject to the rights you grant Stand below. You grant Stand a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, modify, format, publish, distribute, and use your content as needed to provide Stand, operate storefronts, produce products, provide customer support, market approved storefronts or Stand experiences, and improve the platform.
You represent that you have the rights needed to use and submit your content and that your content does not violate the rights of any third party. You and your child may not copy or imitate protected brands, logos, characters, celebrities, product designs, slogans, artwork, or other third-party intellectual property without permission.
We may use anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., "87% of kids choose a food-related business") for internal analytics and marketing. This data will never identify individual children.
Stand is designed to be a child-focused and family-friendly platform. Stand includes automated content moderation that filters inappropriate language and imagery in business names, taglines, uploaded images, AI prompts, and other text input.
Stand may review, moderate, restrict, edit, remove, or disable accounts, content, storefronts, products, or features for safety, legal, compliance, product, or business reasons. Stand is not required to monitor all content or activity but reserves the right to do so.
Your use of Stand is also governed by the Stand Privacy Policy, which includes Stand's Children's Privacy Notice and Parent Consent. By allowing your child to use Stand, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your child's information as described in that policy.
You may request to review, correct, or delete your child's personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
Stand uses third-party services for payments, hosting, analytics, AI features, fulfillment, printing, shipping, email, SMS, and other platform operations. Your use of certain features may also be subject to third-party terms and privacy policies. Stand is not responsible for third-party services that it does not control. The current list of third parties Stand uses is maintained in the Privacy Policy.
If you or your child provide ideas, suggestions, comments, or feedback about Stand, you allow Stand to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Stand does not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times.
No business guarantees. Stand does not guarantee that any child business will make sales, earn income, attract customers, or achieve any specific result. Stand does not guarantee that any product, business name, logo, slogan, design, or AI-generated output is legally available, protectable, non-infringing, or commercially successful.
Third-party services. Stand relies on third-party services (Stripe, Anthropic, Recraft, Klaviyo, Printful, Printify, and others) that have their own terms and may experience downtime or changes. We are not responsible for the performance or availability of third-party services.
You are responsible for supervising your child and reviewing all activity, content, products, and sales connected to your account.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stand will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stand's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to Stand in the 12 months before the claim arose, or one hundred dollars, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Stand and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, advisors, partners, service providers, and affiliates from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to:
You may stop using Stand at any time.
Stand may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account, child profile, storefront, membership, or access to features if Stand believes you or your child violated these Terms, created risk, failed to pay amounts owed, infringed third-party rights, engaged in unsafe activity, or otherwise misused the platform.
Upon termination, Stand may remove or disable access to your storefront, content, child profile, and account features. Certain provisions of these Terms will continue after termination, including payment obligations, intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions.
Stand may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law (by email or by posting a notice on the Service). Your continued use of Stand after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to file a lawsuit in court.
If you have a concern, please first email us at hello@standkids.com so we can try to resolve it informally. We will work in good faith to resolve any dispute within 60 days.
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Stand Kids, Inc. agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small-claims court if your claims qualify. Arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in California, or at a location reasonably convenient to you, or by telephone or videoconference.
You and Stand each agree that any dispute will be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@standkids.com with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, you and Stand consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
