Stand Back to home

Parent Terms of Service

Effective Date: May 21, 2026

Welcome to Stand. Stand helps kids build real businesses with parent supervision. By creating an account, joining the beta, buying a membership, approving a child profile, approving a storefront, or allowing your child to use Stand, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who Can Use Stand

Stand is for parents and legal guardians to manage accounts for kids.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, approve a child profile, approve a storefront, make payments, or receive payouts.

Kids may use Stand only with parent or guardian permission and supervision.

2. Parents Are Responsible

The parent or guardian is the account owner, customer, payer, approver, and payout recipient.

Your child may create business ideas, names, products, logos, storefront content, and marketing materials, but you are responsible for reviewing and approving anything connected to your account.

This includes your child's activity, storefront, products, prices, content, sales, customer-facing materials, and compliance with these Terms.

3. What Stand Provides

Stand is an educational platform that may include:

  • Business onboarding
  • Product design tools
  • Parent-approved storefronts
  • Weekly tasks and lessons
  • Parent dashboard
  • Optional physical starter kits
  • Other tools and features we may add or test over time

Stand is not a school, bank, employer, financial advisor, tax advisor, legal advisor, or guarantee of sales, income, or profit.

4. Parent Approval Is Required

Kids may not independently:

  • Publish a storefront
  • Sell products
  • Communicate with customers
  • Receive payments or payouts
  • Upload or publish customer-facing content
  • Share personal information
  • Make legal, financial, tax, or fulfillment decisions

This is because Stand is built for kids, and parents need to review anything that is public, customer-facing, financial, or connected to safety and privacy.

Parents must review and approve anything public or customer-facing before it is published or used.

5. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for your login information and all activity under your account.

Please keep your account information accurate and notify us if you believe your account was accessed without permission.

6. Beta, Subscriptions, and Payment

Stand is currently in a closed beta / early-access period. During this period, pricing, features, subscriptions, storefront tools, product options, and availability may change as we test and improve the platform.

Any pricing, trial terms, renewal terms, or payment details will be shown at checkout or communicated to you before you are charged.

Payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card information.

You may cancel future renewals by emailing hello@standkids.com. Cancellation stops future charges but does not automatically refund past payments.

Refunds may be requested by emailing hello@standkids.com. Refunds are handled at our discretion unless otherwise required by law. Custom, personalized, made-to-order, printed, or fulfilled products may not be refundable unless defective or required by law.

7. Storefronts and Selling

Stand may allow families to create parent-approved storefronts.

Parents are responsible for reviewing and approving:

Business and brand

  • Business name
  • Logo
  • Branding
  • Slogans, taglines, and descriptions

Products and pricing

  • Product selections
  • Product mockups
  • Prices
  • Product descriptions
  • Product images

Safety and compliance

  • Making sure products are appropriate and lawful
  • Making sure no copied or infringing content is used
  • Handling any local rules, permissions, or requirements
  • Supervising any offline selling activity connected to the business

Sales and customer-facing activity

  • Supervising sales activity
  • Reviewing anything customers will see
  • Managing customer issues, refunds, or fulfillment questions where applicable

Stand may remove, edit, suspend, or disable any storefront, product, content, or account that we believe is unsafe, inappropriate, misleading, infringing, unlawful, or otherwise violates these Terms.

8. Products and Fulfillment

Some products may be printed, shipped, or fulfilled by third-party vendors.

Product availability, pricing, shipping times, and fulfillment methods may change. Shipping timelines are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Parents are responsible for reviewing product mockups and details before approving products for sale.

9. Payments, Earnings, and Payouts

Stand does not pay children directly.

Any earnings, payouts, refunds, taxes, chargebacks, or payment issues are handled through the parent or guardian account, usually through Stripe or another payment provider.

Parents are responsible for any taxes or legal obligations related to sales or payouts.

10. Customer Communication

Children may not communicate directly with customers without parent involvement and approval.

This helps protect kids' safety and privacy and makes sure a parent is involved in anything related to orders, customer questions, refunds, fulfillment, or personal information.

Please notify Stand if you see unsafe, inappropriate, or suspicious customer behavior.

11. SMS Messages

Parents may choose to receive text messages from Stand. SMS is optional and not required to use Stand.

By opting in, you agree that Stand may send you text messages about account updates, product updates, beta updates, storefront milestones, reminders, and marketing messages.

Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP.

Stand's SMS program is for parents and guardians. Stand does not knowingly send marketing text messages directly to minors.

12. AI Tools

Stand may use AI tools to help generate business names, logos, taglines, copy, images, and learning content.

AI outputs are suggestions only. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, or similar to existing content.

Parents are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before it is used, published, or sold.

Kids should not enter private personal information into AI tools.

13. Acceptable Use

You and your child may not use Stand to create, promote, sell, upload, or display anything involving:

  • Weapons
  • Alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, cannabis, or drugs
  • Adult or sexual content
  • Hate, harassment, violence, or discrimination
  • Counterfeit or copied products
  • Copyright or trademark infringement
  • Celebrities, sports teams, characters, or protected brands without permission
  • Gambling or sweepstakes
  • Medical or health claims
  • Unsafe food claims
  • Personal private information
  • Anything inappropriate for a child-focused platform

Stand may decide whether content, products, businesses, or activity violate these rules.

14. Content and Ownership

Stand owns the platform, including the website, app, design, code, and content.

You and your child own the original content created through Stand. You give Stand permission to use that content as needed to operate the platform, publish approved storefronts, fulfill products, provide support, improve Stand, and market approved Stand experiences.

You may not copy protected brands, logos, characters, artwork, slogans, or other third-party content without permission.

15. Safety and Moderation

Stand is designed to be family-friendly and child-focused.

We may review, edit, remove, restrict, or disable content, storefronts, products, accounts, or features for safety, legal, compliance, product, or business reasons.

16. Privacy

Your use of Stand is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Children's Privacy Notice.

By allowing your child to use Stand, you consent to our collection and use of your child's information as described in that policy.

17. Third-Party Services

Stand uses third-party services for payments, hosting, analytics, AI, fulfillment, shipping, email, SMS, and other operations.

Some features may also be subject to third-party terms.

18. Feedback

If you or your child share ideas, comments, or feedback about Stand, we may use that feedback without restriction or compensation.

19. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on Stand infringes your copyright, email us at hello@standkids.com with enough information for us to review and respond.

20. Physical Products

Some Stand subscriptions or features may include physical products.

We currently ship to U.S. addresses only. Shipping times vary. If an item is defective, email hello@standkids.com.

21. No Guarantees

Stand is provided "as is" and "as available."

We do not guarantee that Stand will always work perfectly or be available at all times.

We do not guarantee that any child business will make sales, earn money, attract customers, or succeed.

Parents are responsible for supervising their child and reviewing all activity, content, products, and sales.

22. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Stand is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid Stand in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

23. Indemnification

You agree to protect Stand from claims, losses, or expenses related to your or your child's use of Stand, your content, your storefront, your products, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else's rights.

24. Suspension or Termination

You may stop using Stand at any time.

Stand may suspend or terminate accounts, child profiles, storefronts, memberships, or features if we believe these Terms were violated or there is a safety, legal, payment, or platform risk.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law.

Your continued use of Stand means you accept the updated Terms.

26. Disputes

If you have a concern, please email hello@standkids.com first so we can try to resolve it.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, disputes will be handled through individual arbitration, unless you qualify for small-claims court.

You may opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@standkids.com with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms.

These Terms are governed by California law.
